Midnight Circus in the Parks is an event that runs from September 10th to October 16th. This is an eclectic group of eccentrics, aerialists, and acrobats performing at various parks all over Chicago for this Big Top event. Check them out at Gately Park, McKinley Park, Oriole Park, Wicker Park, and more! Renegade Craft Fair takes place in September on the 10th and 11th. Come out to Division Street (between Damen Street and Ashland Avenue) and see the serious crafters selling their art work and hand made goods. Riot Fest Music Festival runs from September 16th to 18th this year and features music, food, fun, and great local beers. It’s located at Douglas Park in Chicago and will have both well known artists like Morrissey and The Misfits performing on the stage, as well as underground and local artists. But the party doesn’t stop when the festival ends each night. The After Party goes on at local venues around the city. Taco Fest returns on September 17th and 18th in Lake View, a Chicago suburb. Taco Fest invites local area restaurants to put their best taco forward with their own personal twists on this Mexican favorite. Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring Day is a one-day music festival on Saturday September 24th at US Cellular Field featuring a plethora of hip hop and rap artists from all over the country including EDM heavyweight Skrillex, R&B singer John Legend and Odd Future Head Honcho Tyler the Creator. ACTIVATE: with the help of local artists and deejays, the Chicago Loop Alliance throws a party in a nondescript alley each month. It’s a roving event that takes on a new theme. This summer the theme is celebrating each of the five senses. September’s event takes place on the 15th and is free to attend. You can RSVP to receive a free drink when you arrive as well.
