Product Announcement: Introducing Offline Mode for the Enforcer App
At ParqEx, we’re committed to continuously improving our technology to meet the needs of our customers, whether they are property managers, parking operators, or enforcement providers. We are excited to announce the launch of Offline Mode for the Enforcer App, a powerful new feature designed specifically for our enforcement service providers—tow truck drivers, booting agents, ticket officers, and more—who often operate in areas with poor or no internet connectivity.
Why We Built Offline Mode
Many of our customers work in environments where mobile data signals are weak or unavailable. Whether it’s a parking garage with limited reception, a remote location, or a heavily congested urban area, enforcement teams have faced challenges in accessing real-time data. Based on feedback from numerous partners, we developed Offline Mode to ensure that your enforcement operations are not interrupted due to connectivity issues.
Here’s how it works:
- Data Pre-Download: Before heading out to a low-signal area, users can download all necessary data (license plate records, violations history, etc.) to their mobile devices while they are still connected to the internet (e.g., at home or in the office).
- Full Offline Functionality: Once in the field, even without internet access, all core enforcement features—such as issuing tickets, applying boots, logging violations, and accessing vehicle history—remain fully functional.
- Automatic Data Syncing: When the device reconnects to the internet, whether through Wi-Fi or cellular data, all offline enforcement data automatically syncs to the cloud. This ensures real-time updates for reporting, alerts, emails, and analytics.
Key Benefits of Offline Mode
- Uninterrupted Enforcement: Enforcement officers can perform all necessary tasks—issuing citations, managing boots, and more—without worrying about losing data or services due to poor internet signals.
- Real-Time Syncing: As soon as a device reconnects to the internet, all enforcement actions taken while offline will automatically sync, ensuring up-to-date records, reports, and alerts.
- Increased Flexibility: Enforcement providers can download necessary data before entering a known low-signal area and still carry out their duties seamlessly.
- Full Feature Set Access: All enforcement tools, such as reporting, analytics, and notification features, remain active and accurate, even when offline. Officers are alerted when their devices go offline and back online, keeping them informed at all times.
Use Cases
- Tow Truck Drivers in Remote Areas: A tow truck driver tasked with removing a vehicle from a remote lot with no cell reception can now use the Enforcer App to log the violation, boot, or tow the vehicle, and the system will sync the actions automatically when back online.
- Parking Agents in Dense Urban Areas: Parking agents operating in busy downtown areas with high network congestion can issue tickets and warnings without being interrupted by poor connectivity. All their work will be updated in the system once they regain a signal.
- Enforcement Providers in Parking Garages: Agents operating in underground or multi-level parking garages where connectivity often drops can still carry out enforcement tasks, such as logging violations, without delays or disruptions. The app will sync the data when they exit the garage.
Development and Availability
The Offline Mode feature is fully developed and currently in BETA testing. During this phase, we will be rolling out the feature to select users. If you are interested in participating in the beta testing program or signing up for early access, please reach out to us. We welcome feedback to ensure we continue refining this tool to meet your enforcement needs.
The full rollout of Offline Mode is expected to be available to all paying customers by December 2024. We are excited to bring this new capability to your enforcement operations, helping you to stay connected and in control, no matter where you are.
Summary
Offline Mode is the latest advancement from ParqEx aimed at helping our customers enforce parking rules and maintain control, even in challenging environments where internet connectivity may be spotty or unavailable. By enabling enforcement teams to download essential data and operate seamlessly without a connection, we’re providing a robust solution to ensure enforcement never stops.
We built this feature because our partners in the field requested it, and we listened. Whether you’re operating in rural areas, congested cities, or multi-level parking structures, Offline Mode ensures you can keep enforcing without a hitch. Stay connected, even when you’re offline.
