gener8tor is a nationally ranked startup accelerator that invests in high-growth startups. Twice a year the organization invests up to $140K in each of five startups who receive a concierge experience during their 12-week accelerator program.
This summer, gener8tor invested in ParqEx, and we can not thank them enough for their vote of confidence and trust in us.
Through their network of experienced technologists, corporate partners, angel investors and venture capitals, gener8tor assisted ParqEx in raising over $1.25M in seed-round funding; but what impressed us even more about gener8tor is the people that comprise the organization. No words can validate just how impressive gener8tor has been throughout the jam-packed 12-week program, but a few come to mind:
“A true accelerator; visionary; goal-oriented; family,” ParqEx CEO, Vivek Mehra said.
ParqEx was among five other startups in gener8tor’s 2016 Milwaukee class. Out of 638 company applications received, the startup accelerator chose just six companies to be a part of the cohort:
Exit 7c – a mobile app which functions as a digital fuel card, enabling the user to purchase fuel at participating gas stations nationwide.
Lumanu – allows businesses to automatically identify and engage with influencers to drive content creation and brand amplification.
ParqEx – The Private Parking Marketplace that connects people with parking to people looking for parking. Also known as the “Airbnb for Parking.”
Pretty Litter – a revolutionary, low-cost, lightweight kitty litter that monitors your cat health. It lasts longer than the traditional cat litter, it controls odor, it’s cleaner and safer and it’s delivered right to your door.
Third Party Trust – ThirdPartyTrust’s SaaS vendor management platform measures and monitors vendor risk and related cyber threats.
YachtLife –Â the first app that lets you charter luxury yachts with the tap of a button. YachtLife features the finest hand-picked yachts; they show what’s available where you want, when you want it.
The benefits of working with a company like gener8tor are immeasurable, but according to their website, the 49 alums have cumulatively raised more than $100M in follow-on financing.
“The companies working with them (gener8tor) have to be ready for this,” Mehra said. “If they’re not at the right stage, they would be under a tremendous amount of pressure because they wouldn’t be able to keep up. In our cohort, everyone was ready.”
Since its inception in 2012, gener8tor has invested in a wide range of companies including EatStreet, Abodo, Bright Cellars and Needls. Out of the 49 companies it has invested in, four have already been acquired and 400+ jobs have been created.
The 12-week program concludes with a Premiere Night celebrating the latest class of innovative startups and entrepreneurship. Each of gener8tor’s companies give a five-minute pitch in front of a captive audience of investors, entrepreneurs and community members. Premiere Night is Wisconsin’s premier entrepreneurial event.
Here’s an example of the ParqEx pitch at this year’s Premiere Night:
ParqEx wants to thank gener8tor for a tremendous experience.
