<h2><b>The Situation</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Walsh Construction and its joint venture partner Fluor Corporation, operating under the name Walsh-Fluor Design-Build Team, was the general contractor on the CTA&#8217;s Red-Purple modernization project. This project was no small feat! It ran through both the Uptown &amp; Edgewater neighborhoods of Chicago. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Red-Purple Reconstruction project had massive tasks on its hands. It needed first-off to enhance the rail line, drastically improving the efficiency of the CTA&#8217;s service and transit system. But, a big issue arose when the CTA &amp; Walsh-Fluor Design-Build Team recognized that they would be displacing hundreds of neighborhood parking spots during construction. Undoubtedly, the Walsh-Fluor Design-Build Team needed to develop a parking solution that would be convenient for all the neighborhood residents quickly.</span></p>

<h2><b>The Solution</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Walsh-Fluor team needed a parking solutions provider that could provide replacement parking to understandably frustrated residents seamlessly. This is where ParqEx joined the team! First, ParqEx sat down with the entire team &amp; got a firm understanding of the project&#8217;s logistics, the affected neighborhoods, and the scope of all the drivers and guests. Next, the ParqEx team needed to propose a solution that would resolve conflict for the entire duration of the construction project. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Four parking locations were each set up with ParqEx&#8217;s Marketplace, where drivers could choose from their preferred parking location in the ParqEx mobile app &amp; reserve their spot. Every spot was set for $0, a ParqEx special just for Walsh-Fluor. ParqEx then implemented its GuestParq services, allowing all neighborhood residents to reserve visitor parking just as they would reserve their own on the <a href="https://app.parqex.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ParqEx mobile app</a>.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lastly, ParqEx provided the neighborhood residents with Access+ for the gated property, allowing all renters to access and operate the garage door or gate via the ParqEx Access+ app. This was also made available to approved visitors and guests.</span></p>

This user guide, video tutorial, FAQs, and quick-start guide were all included on a dedicated website specifically for Edgewater &amp; Uptown residents &amp; guests. All residents and guests of the Edgewater &amp; Uptown neighborhoods in Chicago gained FREE secure parking during construction. Sure, the situation was not ideal for the residents of Edgewater &amp; Uptown, but the solution was quick and easy. It also saved some residents money as they no longer had to pay for their neighborhood parking during construction.</span></p>
