If you’re a parent, you know just how much work goes into raising a little one. From diapers and bottles to ballet class and sports practice, there is a lot of stress involved in the process. Fortunately, all of the work is well worth the multitude of snuggles and kisses a parent receives in return.
Over the last few years, there’s been a revolution in many industries that’s completely transformed many services. Companies such as Uber and Lyft for transportation and Airbnb for vacation rentals have ushered in the age of the sharing economy, also known as the collaborative economy. There’s one area in which this model is severely needed: parking. People are starting to appreciate the need for an Airbnb type model to address parking issues, such as lack of space, congestion, and unnecessary stress. Parking apps including ParqEx, SPOT and JustPark have introduced a solution that’s starting to transform the way people think about parking. Let’s see why we need an Airbnb of parking and how various companies are providing this service.

If you like buffalo wings, you’re going to LOVE Buffalo Joe’s. I’ve been going to Buffalo Joe’s ever since I was a little kid (I’m 23 now) and my mouth still waters just thinking about the savory, buttery goodness of the famous Buffalo Joe’s wing sauce. Oh, and let’s not forget that the quality of the chicken wings is good, too. Really good. One bite and you’re hooked; trust me. This Evanston staple is sure to satisfy your taste buds.
We’re moving toward the middle of the fall semester, which means that almost every college student has dealt with a crucial issue at least once. No, we’re not talking about midterms or a paper that just doesn’t want to get done. We’re talking about parking options on college campuses, which tends to be frustrating at best, and expensive at worst.
Recently, Toronto Metro wrote an article about parking; not Chicago parking but parking nonetheless. Parking isn’t just a problem in Chicago, or even the United States for that matter. Parking sucks in Canada, too.
Let me summarize an article written by Matt Elliot before you head over to read it directly from him. Basically, the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) is a public agency. They strive to help the parking situation across Toronto.
In 2016, the TPA plans on spending over $340 million on parking expansion. Like I said, the TPA is a public agency. This large sum of money could be directed elsewhere, but instead it’s being used to fund huge parking garages and parking lots – essentially, patches of land for cars to sit in.

This is just another article that validates the ParqEx business model. You may be asking yourself: why are you posting an article written in Toronto about the Toronto parking situation? Well, the answer is simple. Every city in the United States has some problem with parking. The simple response to the limited supply of parking in cities is to build more massive parking garages.
ParqEx has another solution. As a people, we can do more to solve the parking problem ourselves. For example, Chicago Parking in the West Loop is extremely difficult. If every business and individual listed their parking spaces on the ParqEx platform and made them available for rent when they are not using them, parking instantly becomes more available – not to mention the revenue these businesses and individuals will receive from listing and renting their spots. It’s pretty simple. Share your parking spaces. Help others. Make money.
ParqEx is a technology company that connects owners of private parking spots to people looking for parking. In urban areas where parking demand is high but available options are scarce or expensive, ParqEx makes additional supply available to the driving public by listing exclusive inventory owned by local residents and businesses.
Using ParqEx, parking owners are able to make some supplemental income from an underutilized asset while renters get access to exclusive inventory in more convenient and hard-to-park locations. The ParqEx support team ensures that the entire process of listing, reserving, parking, and paying is as smooth as possible for all involved.
ParqEx has also developed the revolutionary Access+ Technology. With Access+, residents and approved visitors can open the garage door from their smartphones. Property managers and condo boards can simplify management and improve control of the garage.
